A feminine figure stands, folded in half at the waist; clasped arms, face and legs converge. Delicate tones of umber and hazy lavender define the gentle arc of her back and wisps of hair that brush the floor. A slight reflection is our only clue as to where the figure stands in the expanse of negative space. This limited edition art of a single nude, her pose proportioned to the picture, is iconic symbolizing an understated sensuality.

In the realm of nude photography, there is often a balance between celebrating the sensuality of the body and communicating the aesthetics of the figure. This limited edition art nude uses a light-colored palette, which never quite reaches pure white, to showcase the subject’s curled posture. A strong line divides her torso from her legs; her arm ties the two visual areas together.

With her face almost completely hidden, she is practically anonymous. In a nod to vintage pinup, the curves of the body are fundamental elements of this composition. However, her pose is not exaggerated; her heels rest flat on the floor and the arc of her back appears more comfortable than exhibitionist. This feeling can also be seen in her closed eyes. Although the overall effect is modest, she is unabashed in her exposure.

The low contrast image contains a number of details and textures. Strands of hair form sweeping lines that cross and tangle. Faint texture can be seen in the skin of her legs and arms. Muscles and ribs are outlined in her back and side.
