In my series of artistic nude images of swimmers, this composition is distinct. The woman’s body is contorted rather than elongated. She is weightless, directionless. The posture fills the expanse of blue, bringing her exhilaration close to us. The only unpopulated quarter is the upper left, occupied by dark blue and bright highlights.
One hand connects with an ankle. The other limbs are outstretched. Her legs and one arm align. Her face points straight up. Hair colors the water with shades of henna and chestnut. Drops of water dot her skin.
